Hand-Dealing Program Download Page
The icon below will allow you to download a hand dealing program which runs as spreadsheet in the Microsoft Excel program. To run the spreadsheet you must have a copy of Microsoft Excel installed on your PC.
To download the program to your PC, click the icon on the left and select Save from the File Download dialogue box. You can then select (or accept the default) location for the file. The file name will default to "Dealing Prog.exe". This file is a self-extracting ZIP file containing the dealing program and folder containing the card images.
Note where the document is saved and once the download is complete, close the Download dialogue box, navigate to get to the file and double-click it. This will start the extraction process and prompt you for a location to save the spreadsheet and associated folder. You can put them wherever you like, BUT the card images folder must be called "Images" so please don't rename it. Click the Unzip button and you should see a dialogue box to confirm that 55 file(s) have been unzipped successfully.
After the extraction completes you should have a spreadsheet file called "Bridge Deal.xls" and the folder "Card Images". This folder will contain 54 files all with names ending "....img" which hold the images of the playing cards.
To run the spreadsheet either double-click the file "Bridge Deal.xls" or start Excel and open "Bridge Deal.xls". When the spreadsheet loads and depending on your Excel settings, you may get a Security warning which will advise you that file contains macros. If you do get this warning you must click the Enable Macros button otherwise the spreadsheet will not work. The program is self-explanatory - there is one button to generate a new deal and one button for each hand to decided whether the cards for that hand are dealt face-up or face-down.
